A major spring storm with freezing rain and heavy snow is moving out of the Dakotas, but another one might be right on its heels.
The National Weather Service says a system might bring freezing rain and as much as a foot of snow to North Dakota this weekend. Expected strong winds could create near-blizzard conditions and make travel hazardous. The rain and snow could extend into parts of South Dakota.
A three-day storm that hit South Dakota this week dumped as much as 30 inches of snow in the western part of the state and freezing rain in the east. More than 17,000 people remain without electricity in the region.
