Distance runner Kara Goucher, who grew up in Duluth, finished in sixth place in the Boston Marathon Monday morning.
The marathon's website says Goucher ran the race in an unofficial time of a little more than 2 hours and 26 minutes.
Rita Jeptoo of Kenya won the women's race, which she also won in 2006. More than 24,000 runners started the marathon Monday morning. The marathon's website listed more than 500 runners who are registered as being from Minnesota.
