Hundreds of students are expected to participate Tuesday in the Minnesota Zoo's second annual American Sign Language Day.
It's part of the zoo's World Language Days series. Students will tour the Apple Valley zoo and learn facts about animals presented in sign language.
One-hundred presenting students will interpret at 30 animal exhibits, using costumes and props. Observing students will receive a "passport'' where they tour the exhibits and get a stamp at each station.
American Sign Language majors from St. Catherine University also will volunteer their services around the zoo.
The Minnesota Zoo has had World Language Days since 1979.
