From book to film: A debate over literary adaptations

The latest film adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" opens next week, with Leonardo DiCaprio taking on the role played by a youthful Robert Redford in 1974.

In honor of the new version of the Fitzgerald classic, for this week's Screen Time, Tom Weber and Stephanie Curtis discuss literary adaptations like "The French Connection" (book by Robin Moore; 1971 film by William Friedkin) and "2001: A Space Odyssey" (book by Arthur C. Clarke; 1968 film by Stanley Kubrick). They will also touch on the question: Which is better, the book or the movie?
