Fargo woman rescued from Red River dies

Authorities say a 41-year-old Fargo woman rescued by firefighters from the Red River earlier this week has died.

The Fargo Fire Department says Sabrina Quintana died Thursday after being hospitalized since the Monday morning incident. Police and fire crews had responded to a report at the Midtown Dam in Dike East Park and began searching the shore when they found a cell phone.

Firefighters were launching a boat when they spotted the woman floating about 20 yards north of the boat ramp at the park. She was pulled to shore by firefighters wearing cold water rescue suits.

Authorities performed CPR on the woman before she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
