The Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis presents a power-packed schedule this week as part of its African Summer 2013 program, with Femi Kuti and the Positive Force playing tonight, and Amadou and Mariam playing Friday.
My daughter sent me the following video after seeing Amadou and Mariam over the weekend on the east coast, and it's been impossible to get the tune out of my head ever since. It's got a powerful message about modern human migration too.
The Malian husband and wife team played to a sold out Minnesota crowd last year, and the Cedar is recommending getting tickets in advance.
