16-year-old driver killed near Buffalo, Minn.

A 16-year-old girl from Maple Lake died after her car collided with a dump truck in Chatham Township on Tuesday.

Emma Rodelius turned in front of the truck on County Road 35 West according to Capt. Greg Howell of the Wright County Sheriff's Office. Rodelius' car then hit a Mazda heading west.

Rodelius, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The 49-year-old man driving the Mazda was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. The dump truck driver was uninjured.

The Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose School District confirmed that Rodelius would have been a senior at Buffalo High School. She was a photographer whose social media pages are filled with portraits of friends and photos of proms and weddings.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are still investigating the causes of the accident.
