Two guilty of sex trafficking young women

A Ramsey County jury found two men guilty on Thursday for sex trafficking a teen and a young woman in St. Paul last year.

The jury decided that Fonati Diggs, 24, of Northfield, and Timothy Cross, 20, of St. Paul, lured a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman from Duluth and then forced them to prostitute themselves.

Both men were found guilty of one count of aiding and abetting sex trafficking for each victim. Cross was also found guilty for assault and possession of a firearm.

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said in a written statement that the verdict sends the message that the community won't tolerate sex trafficking.

Diggs and Cross will be sentenced on Sept. 16.
