Man found dead believed to be hit-run victim

Beltrami County sheriff's officials say they're investigating a fatal hit-and-run.

The body of a 25-year-old man was discovered on a road near Bemidji about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. Sheriff's investigators say skid marks and vehicle parts were found on the road.

The only description the sheriff's department released on the vehicle is that it's red and has front end damage.

Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
