Congress continues its farm-bill-free diet

Congress has left town on its August recess without settling its differences over the farm bill. And in an effort to garner wider support among their members, House Republicans have proposed even deeper cuts in food stamps than in the earlier House version — meaning that the new legislation will be even harder for the Senate to stomach.

We talk with Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson about the lack of a farm bill and its effect, if any, on the daily lives of Minnesota farmers.
