Bernie Ostendorf loves winter in St. Cloud, and she wanted her granddaughter from California to know the same thrill of playing in the snow. So she kept bags of snow in her freezer until 6-year-old Cedar Moore visited this week.
A St. Cloud Times report says Cedar and her grandmother made a snowman on Friday in Ostendorf's yard.
The task was challenging because the snow had frozen into a solid mass. But it began melting quickly with temperatures in the 80s.
Cedar was visiting from the Los Angeles area with her mother, Mari Ostendorf. Mari says she thinks it's great that Bernie Ostendorf and her granddaughter make a point to play in the snow. She says it's what every grandma should be doing, and that it creates beautiful memories. ---
