Is it possible to have civil discourse with people who don't agree with you? The Minnesota Council of Churches' Respectful Conversations Project is trying to teach people how to do just that.
After convening 55 conversations on the topic of gay marriage last year, the group is now turning to guns.
The effort isn't aimed at changing minds, but rather bringing people together who have differing views and helping them find a way for each to respect the other's opinion.
The first conversation on guns is being held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, Minn.
