A west-central Minnesota man is charged with murder in the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.
The Yellow Medicine County prosecutor charged 28-year-old Andrew Dikken of Granite Falls Wednesday with two counts of second-degree murder.
Dikken turned himself in at the Renville County Sheriff's Department Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say Dikken was being sought in the deaths of 26-year-old Kara Monson and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Chris Panitzke, of Redwood Falls.
Dikken had been missing since Monson and Pantizke were fatally shot Sept. 2 in Granite Falls. He's scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday.
Dikken remains in jail. Monson's cousin, Eric Monson, tells the West Central Tribune the family is relieved Dikken is in custody and that his arrest is one step toward closure.
