MNsure officials say roughly 8,000 accounts have been created on the state's new health insurance marketplace as of Wednesday afternoon, with about 235 created by small employers.
The MNsure call center is averaging about 1,000 calls a day.
Officials say most of the calls have been coming from the 218 area code in northern Minnesota over the past several days. MNsure's executive director says that may be a result of marketing efforts.
Officials will not disclose until next week how many consumers have actually enrolled in a health plan.
