2 men dead in officer-involved shooting in Orono

Two men are dead in an officer-involved shooting in the western Minneapolis suburb of Orono.

The Hennepin County sheriff's office says Orono police were dispatched to a trouble call at a home just before 9 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say officers encountered a man in the front yard, armed with a handgun. A statement says shots were fired, and the man with the gun died at the scene. No officers were injured. Police then entered the home, where they found another man dead. Authorities say he was shot before police arrived.

Names have not been released.

The Hennepin County sheriff's office is continuing the investigation.
