The Hennepin County Attorney's Office charged a Minneapolis man on Friday for his alleged role in a dog fighting ring.
According to the complaint, Minneapolis police used a GPS tracker to find where 34-year-old Leroy Longs Jr. allegedly held the pit bulls used in a dog fighting ring. The dogs were apparently kept in kennels in nine residences with eight located in north Minneapolis.
Eighteen dogs, including five puppies, were seized. One of the female pit bulls was pregnant.
Police say they also found two guns, narcotics and dog fighting equipment while conducting raids on the residences. However, the charges right now only include one count of felony dog fighting, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison.
