Former legislator denounces Senate building, sues to stop it

Former state Rep. Jim Knoblach has filed suit to stop the new $90 million Senate office building.

"Why? I don't think we need to spend $90 million on a new 155,000-square-foot building, plus parking, for a few dozen senators who are not even in St. Paul most of the year," Knoblach wrote in an opinion piece for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "The Capitol building renovations are taking just 37,000 square feet. Even more important, the bill was passed in an unconstitutional way."

Knoblach joins The Daily Circuit to discuss his opposition to the new building.
