Sen. Scott Dibble writes letter to Vikings owner about Kluwe's accusations

State Sen. Scott Dibble has written to the Minnesota Vikings owner, urging him to thoroughly review accusations by former punter Chris Kluwe that a special teams coordinator made anti-gay comments.

In an article posted Thursday on the website Deadspin, Kluwe wrote that coach Mike Priefer made several anti-gay comments in objection to Kluwe's opposition of an anti-gay marriage amendment in Minnesota, an allegation the coach "vehemently denies."

Dibble's letter was dated Friday and addressed to Zygi Wilf.

The Vikings have said they take the allegations "very seriously and will thoroughly review" the matter. The team said it always respected players' individual rights and promoted tolerance.

Dibble, an openly gay Democrat from Minneapolis, wrote he was "somewhat encouraged" by the team's response, but the allegations require more than a cursory investigation.
