Governor wants more money for University of Minnesota – Duluth

In late January, Gov. Mark Dayton expressed "shock" over the size of the funding cut the University of Minnesota - Duluth received from the U system compared to the Twin Cities campus during the recession.

Now the Duluth News Tribune reports that Dayton, in announcing his new budget:

"… wants to increase the University of Minnesota budget by $5 million. While he and the Legislature cannot tell the university specifically how to spend the money, he said that he wants the money to go to the University of Minnesota Duluth."
