Two charged in Eden Prairie gym beating

Prosecutors have filed felony charges against two men suspected of robbing and beating a man in a Lifetime Fitness locker room Sunday.

According to charges filed Tuesday by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, Dalal Idd, 18, of Eden Prairie punched the victim several times, took his wallet and cellphone and gave them to Kamal Maqadin, 26, of Shakopee. Police found the victim bleeding and barely conscious in the locker room of the Lifetime Fitness on Baker Road in Eden Prairie.

Police said the man couldn't speak and was transported to a hospital. According to the charges, police found the two men in an apartment about four miles away.

Prosecutors requested bail be set at $500,000 for Idd and $250,000 for Maqadin. Both men were charged with first degree aggravated robbery. Idd was also charged with third degree assault.

Prosecutors also filed burglary and assault charges against Idd for an incident which took place following the robbery.

Idd allegedly entered an Eden Prairie home and beat a man sending him to the hospital. The charges said the man's wife told police she last saw Idd walking in the direction of the apartment building where he was later caught with Maqadin.
