Andersen Corporation -- best known for making windows and doors -- announced a major expansion of its factory in Bayport, Minnesota Wednesday.

The company plans to spend $18 million on the facility that will employ at least 100 new full-time workers starting sometime next year. Currently Andersen employs about 3,000 people in Minnesota and 9,000 around the country.

Because Andersen is one of those companies so tightly connected to the housing market, we sat down with its President and CEO, Jay Lund, at the company's headquarters today to ask what's making him so optimistic.
