A Minneapolis cemetery will screen the Buster Keaton comedy classic "The General" as a fundraiser over Memorial Day weekend.
The Friends of the Cemetery will show the silent movie on Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. at Minneapolis Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial Cemetery.
The music group Dreamland Faces will provide a live score. Proceeds will help support efforts to restore the steel picket and limestone pier fence that serves as the cemetery's border along Lake Street and Cedar Avenue.
Gates will open at 7 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, but pets and videotaping will not be allowed. Coolers and alcoholic beverages also are prohibited.
