A school bus was consumed by flames Tuesday afternoon at Century Avenue and Interstate 94 in Maplewood, but reports say no one was hurt.
The alarming image of the school bus on fire was caught on a Minnesota Department of Transportation camera.
It's not clear yet what happened but the State Patrol this afternoon said there were no injuries and no kids were on the bus.
The cause of the fire isn't known at this time.
The bus was operated by the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale district and was part of the district's fleet.
The driver was between routes when he smelled smoke and pulled over on I-94 near the Century Avenue exit, district spokesperson Jennifer McNeil said.
McNeil said the driver reported the fire started in the engine compartment.
The bus driver was not injured.
The exit ramp to Century Avenue from I-94 eastbound was closed for several hours, MnDOT said.
