Emily Wright, managing director for the Minnesota Guitar Society, says discovering the Uruguyan Candombe tradition has forced her to re-define what music is and should be. Candombe drumming, singing and dance will be overtaking Montevideo this weekend June 13 - 15. "Chippewa Candombera" is a collaboration between Montevideo, Minnesota, and its sister city in Montevideo, Uruguay.

L'Assassins is playing Friday, June 13 at Icehouse in Minneapolis, and Saturday, June 14 at Northern Spark.
