Rachel Sussman has spent the better part of the decade traveling the world, documenting and photographing "continuously living organisms" for her recently released book, "The Oldest Living Things in the World."
Her photographs offer a glimpse of the Earth's evolution since before "year zero." And they provide clues to what we might expect in the future, as climate change looms large.
The Daily Circuit will catch up with Sussman about the making of her collection and what she learned along the way.
