Hodges quiet on Minneapolis position on SW rail line
With just two weeks before the deadline for a vote, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges wouldn't reveal her city's current position on the controversial plan for the Southwest Light Rail Corridor line to Eden Prairie.
Hodges spoke to All Things Considered Host Tom Crann Monday.
The stumbling block is how to get the proposed line from Minneapolis into St Louis Park, a debate which has introduced the term "shallow tunnel" into the Minnesota lexicon.
State law requires communities along the proposed route to vote on the project by July 14, but some communities are leaving the vote till the last minute. Minneapolis hasn't scheduled a hearing on the proposal yet.
