A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis to New York City has landed safely in Milwaukee after it was diverted.
Delta spokeswoman Kate Modolo says the crew chose to divert the flight Saturday morning out of an abundance of caution after the pilots detected a smoky odor on board.
She says the 148 passengers are being placed on another flight and will arrive at New York La Guardia on Saturday afternoon.
Ryan McAdams is a spokesman for General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. He says the flight landed safely at about 11:15 a.m.
Modolo says the source of the smoky odor is being investigated.
