A 74-year-old school bus driver is on leave as officials investigate a school bus crash near Pulaski that killed a car passenger and injured 14 people.
The Press-Gazette Media reports a Pulaski School District spokeswoman said Thursday the man isn't working following the Tuesday accident. School officials say the bus was carrying volleyball teams from Pulaski High School, including 22 students and three coaches.
Authorities say it appeared the bus driver failed to yield to a car on a highway. The car hit the bus, killing 24-year-old Shannon Hall of Hamburg. The 27-year-old male driver of the car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A woman who answered the phone at the driver's home tells the newspaper he won't be taking calls.
