Girl struck by train in Anoka

A teenage girl was killed by a freight train in Anoka Sunday night.

The accident occurred near Highway 47 at about 8:30 p.m.

Witnesses told police they saw the girl place her belongings beside the track and calmly walk into the path of the train.

Authorities are working to identify the girl. The incident remains under investigation.
