Penumbra Theatre is hosting a conversation tonight about recent events in Ferguson, Mo., where the killing of an unarmed young black man by a white police officer unleashed demonstrations and racial unrest.
Sarah Bellamy, co-director of Penumbra, told MPR News that the theater was holding the event because "This is an emotionally charged topic and an emotionally charged time, and I think people are hungry to talk. Penumbra has always been a safe space for community members to engage in challenging and compassionate conversations around issues of race and racism."
Bellamy speaks with The Daily Circuit's Phil Picardi about tonight's dialogue.
