An overturned semitrailer blocked traffic on southbound Interstate 35W in Shoreview Monday afternoon. Authorities said it would take four hours to clean up the roadway.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation reported a crash on the interstate shortly before noon. The agency's traffic cams showed traffic being diverted off the road and a preliminary report said two lanes were blocked.
The agency announced that the ramp Highway 10 to I-35W southbound was also closed. Traffic has been detoured to eastbound Highway 10. MnDOT said it would take four hours to clean up the roadway.
Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske said in a Twitter update that the semitrailer was carrying auto parts, which were spilled across the southbound lanes of the interstate.
He said there were no injuries.
