Today's Morning Edition music is the song "Nitroglycerin" by Movits! who are scheduled to play Wednesday night at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. This Swedish group combines hip hop with swing.
The inspiration for the band's unique sound stems from a backyard gathering. The band's three members were listening to music and dancing. Someone played a recording of Benny Goodman's band playing "Sing Sing Sing." From that point on Movits! decided to incorporate the drums and horns of swing into the group's sound.
