The Minnesota State Patrol says a passerby has saved a driver involved in a fiery crash that killed a St. Cloud woman.
The patrol says a 37-year-old female driver died in the crash Thursday near Kimball. Authorities say a minivan was trying to pass on a highway when it crashed head-on with the woman's car.
The minivan rolled before catching fire. Authorities say 28-year-old David Baxley of South Haven was driving by and stopped to pull a 22-year-old man from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, out of the burning vehicle.
Baxley is a sergeant in the Minnesota National Guard. He says the cab of the van was engulfed in flame by the time he dragged the man away. Authorities say the man was hospitalized with serious injuries.
No arrests were reported.
