A suspect turned herself in and was taken into custody this morning by Minneapolis police after an overnight shooting that left a woman dead in a downtown strip club and bar.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at Augie's just after 1 a.m.
Police spokesman John Elder said the incident wasn't random.
"It's a packed bar. Somebody walks in and appears to deliberately shoot one person, doesn't discharge any other rounds and then flees. It seems to be a more of a focused and directed effort," he said.
Elder said the woman killed was a customer at the bar. He says police interviewed numerous witnesses and collected evidence at the scene overnight. Additional information on the case will be released Monday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will release the woman's identity and the cause of her death.
