Today's Morning Edition music is from The New Basement Tapes with "Duncan and Jimmy," a song off the album "Lost on the River."
Showtime will broadcast a documentary tonight about the making of the album, which began when producer T-Bone Burnett was given a collection of lyrics written by Bob Dylan in 1967.
An all-star group of musicians, including Elvis Costello, Jim James and Marcus Mumford, was assembled to turn Dylan's words into full-fledged songs.
The documentary will explain how the group tried to emulate the informal atmosphere that Dylan and the Band used to create the original Basement Tapes.
