Way back at the State Fair, Howard Sinker, a digital sports editor for the Star Tribune, predicted that his alma mater's football team would do extraordinarily well this year.
At the time, his prediction for Macalester College — "10 and 0, division three playoffs. We're going to shock the world." — sounded ludicrous, given Mac's long tradition of football ineptitude.
But the team finished the regular season 9-1 and is headed to the Division III playoffs. They take on UW-Whitewater tomorrow.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Sinker about Macalester's season and Saturday's playoff game.
