Officials say one person has died in a house fire in the Twin Cities area.

Firefighters were called to a house in Vadnais Heights on New Year's Day. It took about an hour to extinguish the flames.

Neighbors say a man and woman moved into the one-story home a few years ago and had been renovating it. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
