Minnesota gas prices continue to be among the cheapest in the country, according to an analysis released by AAA.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Minnesota is $1.94 as of Tuesday. That's down almost 50 cents from just a month ago.

The low prices are because people drive less during the winter and oil production has increased, said Gail Weinholzer, director of public affairs for the Minnesota and Iowa chapter of AAA.
