Police say a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato shot and killed himself in the school's library Monday afternoon.
A statement from MSU Mankato says police officers responded to a call of a possibly suicidal man on the southwestern Minnesota campus and found him in Memorial Library around 4:30 p.m.
Police say the 27-year-old student "turned the weapon on himself and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound."
The public was not in any danger during the incident, police said.
