The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to extend their three-game winning streak when they take on Atlanta on Monday night at Target Center.

The Wolves beat the Pistons in Detroit on Sunday 112-101.

The University of Minnesota Gophers women's basketball team also won on Sunday. The Gophers beat Michigan State 86-79.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Howard Sinker, a digital sports editor for the Star Tribune, about the recent wins for local sports teams.
