The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Phoenix Suns at Target Center Friday night.

The Wolves will be without forward Thaddeus Young. He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets Thursday for former league MVP Kevin Garnett.

Garnett won that award as a member of the Timberwolves in 2004. He played 12 seasons with the Wolves and is considered the best player in franchise history. He is now 38 years old and near the end of his career.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Howard Sinker, a digital sports editor for the Star Tribune, about the trade.
