1 dead in northeast Minneapolis shooting

Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting death in northeast Minneapolis that occurred early Saturday morning.

A man was found with severe gunshot wounds near Lowry Avenue and Fourth Street Northeast shortly after 12:30 a.m. Police say he died a short time later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Another man was seen running east on Lowry Avenue with a gun in his hand, and police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 612-692-TIPS.

The victim's name will be released later by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. Police say it's the second homicide in Minneapolis so far this year.
