Hennepin County officials Thursday said a body recovered from the Mississippi River near the 10th Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis is that of missing University of Minnesota student Jennifer Houle.
Houle, 22, was last seen at the Blarney Pub & Grill in Dinkytown sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. Friday. Her purse was found four blocks away on 4th Street Southeast at 3 a.m., according to police.
On Monday, officials said that video evidence showed Houle entering the water from the 10th Avenue Bridge early Friday morning but that she was alone and no suspects were being sought in her disappearance.
The sheriff's office said the water patrol found the body around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed her identity Thursday and said Houle died from drowning in the river.
