Today's Morning Edition music is from 60 years ago Thursday when Bill Haley & His Comets performed at the old Prom Ballroom in St. Paul.  

The movie "Blackboard Jungle" featuring Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" wouldn't open in Minnesota until a few weeks later so audiences here weren't familiar yet with that song or the teenage hysteria it was causing in other places. 

But Haley did have three other songs in the Top 40 at the time including this cover of a Big Joe Turner tune.
