Anton Armstrong is celebrating his 25th anniversary as conductor of the St. Olaf Choir this year.

Born in New York to first-generation Caribbean immigrants, Armstrong wound up at a Minnesota school with Norwegian roots, where he became one of the country's leading choral conductors. 

MPR News' Tom Weber talk with Armstrong in the MPR studios and members of the St. Olaf choir performed a few pieces.
