Funeral services will be held this weekend for a 10-year-old Crystal boy whose body was found April 11 in the Mississippi River.

A family spokesman says the funeral for Barway Collins is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Temple in north Minneapolis. He says the family originally hoped to wait a few weeks until Barway's biological mother could arrive from Liberia, but the service needs to be held this weekend due to the condition of his remains.

Several hundred people gathered Sunday afternoon for a memorial service organized by a group of people who helped search for Barway after he went missing on March 18.

Barway's father, Pierre Collins, has been charged with second-degree murder in his death. He's being held on $2 million bail.
