A 25-year-old man has been charged with child endangerment after authorities say he let an 8-year-old boy sit in the driver's seat of an SUV, crashing into another car in St. Paul.
Police say Blake Dominic Folson of Eagan had been drinking and was sitting in the passenger seat steering the car, while the boy used the gas and brake pedals.
According to a criminal complaint, a woman driving another car said the SUV made an abrupt U-turn and crashed into her car around 6 p.m. Monday. She told police a child was sitting behind the wheel.
Authorities say a preliminary breath test showed Folson had a blood alcohol content of 0.039 percent, below the legal limit to drive.
It wasn't immediately clear if Folson has an attorney.
