Funding increase raises hopes of boosting American Indian grad rate

Only about half of Minnesota's American Indian students graduate in four years. It's a startling figure that the state has long struggled to improve.

But administrators now have a new burst of hope. It's tied to a major funding increase from the Legislature last week.

Lawmakers voted to more than double Minnesota's current investment in American Indian students in the special session that ended Saturday.
