For 20 years, a local organization has helped kids in the Twin Cities develop skills in teamwork, communication, problem solving — all through boat building.

Youth interns at St. Paul's Urban Boatbuilders are putting the finishing touches on wooden boats that they have been working on throughout the summer.

Mayor Chris Coleman stopped by the organization's University Avenue workshop on Wednesday to lend a hand in finishing some of the watercraft.

The interns will launch their boats on Como Lake on Wednesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m.
