After closing Interstate 94 westbound last weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota Department of Transportation officials will close the eastbound stretch this coming weekend.
Drivers should expect delays and a detour on eastbound Interstate I-94 between Minnesota Highway 280 and Interstate 35E. I-94 will close in that stretch starting at 10 p.m. Friday. Eastbound I-94 ramps between Highway 280 and I-35E also will close then, MnDOT said in a statement Monday.
MnDOT says it's closing the highway so crews can pour the south side of the Highway 51/Snelling Avenue bridge deck spanning I-94. All eastbound lanes and ramps are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
